Why should you vote for Muziekpublique in the Mixity Awards – Best Practices ?

For 15 years, Muziekpublique has supported the representation, promotion and preservation of traditional music and dance from around the world in Brussels. We bring together different cultures with a view to encouraging exchanges between the public and the artists. World musicians based in Brussels are at the heart of our work. Muziekpublique focuses on three main areas of activity :
- The organisation of concerts and festivals (100 per year)
- The world music academy (40 lessons per week)
- The CD label (8 CDs issued and promoted internationally) which supports unique musical projects that reflect our social convictions (Refugees for Refugees, Voxtra, Adana, Blindnote …)

Concerts take place mostly at the Molière Theatre, but also in other locations in the Brussels Region (not to mention numerous collaborations with other venues, festivals and events). Muziekpublique reserves a significant part of its programme for artists based in Brussels. We help to promote emerging artists, which is only natural in the context of music and multiculturalism. We also accompany many of the musicians in our network in the development of their careers at different levels.
