Are you aged between 12 and 18, or play an instrument that you would like to practice in the company of other young people ? In that case this course is tailor-made for you ! Nicolas Hauzeur is an experienced teacher whose recipe for musical pleasure is to blend together innumerable melodies from all over the world.

You will play tunes from Senegal, Palestine, Cape-Verde, Brazil, Romania… This “ensemble” course will emphasize transmission by ear. The music won’t be read, but you’ll have to learn to reproduce it. Nicolas himself has learned to play various instruments, and has been teaching for 20 years, using this technique. Transmission by ear ensures a huge development of musical feeling in young people.

Target audience ?

- Young people between 12 and 18 who want to make music together
- Open to students with at least two years of experience
- Diverse instruments are admitted : violin, trumpet, accordion, whistle, qanûn, percussion, singing, cello, ...

Nicolas Hauzeur

Nicolas eats, sleeps and breathes music. He’s just as familiar with the repertoire of the Balkans as he is with the Brazilian choro, and he makes musical journeys to the Far East. For him music is a gift to be passed on. His association Kopanica spreads this philosophy far and wide by organizing exchanges of musicians between Belgium and the Balkans and arranges musical journeys to Romania, bringing a host of curious Belgian musicians to meet Romanians. As well as being a musician of a high standard (violin, cavaquinho, baglama), he has been an amazing teacher for more than 20 years, among others with Muziekpublique’s Balkan Ensemble.

Every Wednesday from 15:00 to 16:30 at Maria-Boodschaplyceum, 22 Rue de la Braie, Bruxelles

Come along to a free trial course on Wednesday 20 September (15:00-16:30), to meet the teacher and judge whether this ensemble course is meant for you !
