Malick Pathe Sow comes from a large family of laawbe (like griots) and has been brought up with the music of the Peulh, nomadic people from North Senegal. Following loyal service as one of Baaba Maal’s main musicians, he embarked on a solo career after he arrived in Belgium.
In 1998, he released his first CD Danniyanke with the help of Baaba Maal. Two CD’s followed : Diariyata in 2001 at the lRobert Falk label and in 2005, Miin E Mah . Maayo Men (first CD on the Muziekpublique label) is his fourth CD and it marks a return to his acoustic roots.
