Dirk Proost and Dick Vanderharst present... Passion ! Friday 2 April 2010, 20.00, Molière, Galerie de la Porte de Namur, 3 Square du Bastion, 1050 Brussels
After the success of the Little House of Hidden Music (La Petite Maison des Musiques Cachées), Dirk Vanderharst is making a come-back with a production that includes a nice variety of different styles. In close collaboration with Dirk Proost, Dick has created a passionate music based on European Processions, particularly the Spanish Holy Week (Semana Santa). This popular spectacle plays on the temporal tension and what we call the ‘duende’, an untranslatable feeling of great, passionate emotion. The duo of reed instruments played by the ‘Orkest van de Reizende maan’ on one hand and oboes from Brittany and Catalonia on the other play a central role in this performance. The simultaneous playing of the two reed instruments evokes music from Rajasthan, whilst the Euterpe choir, the Flamenco singer and the Galicians from ‘Son as 3’ muddy the waters and bring the music back to one based on passion. About 100 musicians are expected for this one-off musical experience. Dick van der Harst (soliste and composer), Stefan Hardi and Jo Zanders (percussion), Euterpe (choir), Griet Jochems (maestro), Orkest van de reizende maan, Dirk Proost (musical lead and composition), Eddie Vaes, Dick van der Harst and Dirk Proost (concept), Son As 3 and a Flamenco singer.
